John Lapp
John Richard Lapp, 63, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, in the Northern Indiana Veterans Administration Healthcare Marion, Ind.
He was born Sept. 29, 1949, to John and Dorothy (Metzler) Lapp in Lancaster, Pa. He graduated in 1967 from Warsaw High School and was a resident of Kosciusko County, Ind.
He faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1970 to 1973 as Corporal E-4 with Company A, First Battalion, Eight Marines, Second Marine Division during the Vietnam Conflict. Upon returning home he was employed by Uniroyal Inc of Warsaw for 22 years as an extruder operator and later was employed by R.R, Donnelley and Sons of Warsaw as a Hoist Operator from 1990 to 2002.
He was united in marriage to Marvallene Baldridge in Warsaw on June 1, 1979. He was a member of Community Grace Brethren Church Warsaw and American Legion Post #253 of North Webster, IN.
Survivors include his wife: Marvallene Lapp, Warsaw; daughters: Pamela Sue Bencze, Winona Lake, Ind.; and Kristi Sanchez, Akron, Ind; parents: John and Dorothy Lapp, Lancaster, Pa.; brothers: Gary Lapp, San Mateo, Calif.; and Dennis (Mary) Lapp, Kearney, MS; sister: Cheryl Spohn, Lancaster, Pa.; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Barbara Kay Lapp; and a great-grandson: Preston.
Calling hours will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday Nov. 28, in the funeral home. Chaplain Bob Jarboe will officiate the services. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Post #253.
