Jesse E. Dungan
Jesse E. Dungan, 103, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 10:25 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, in The Oaks, Columbia City, Ind.
He was born March 21, 1909, in Huntington, Ind., to Clyde and Verda (Humbert) Dungan. On Feb. 26, 1929, in Huntington, he married Doris F. Wiley.
Jesse resided in Warsaw since 2003 having moved from Danville, Ill. He was office manager for Kraft Foods, Kendallville, Ind., and Danville, Ill., for 42 years retiring in 1974.
He was a member of the Danville Masonic Lodge and Central Christian Church of Danville and enjoyed taking long drives to find new places for lunch. He enjoyed a beer or two every now and then and his favorite past time was working puzzle books. He was proud of the fact that he could complete the puzzles without crossing out the word clues or the numbers. He took no medications and still lived alone until one year prior to the time of his death.
He is survived by two sons: Jack (Wanda) Dungan, Danville, Ill.; and Michael Dungan, Danville; two daughters: Dorette J. Hess, Huntertown, Ind.; and Marilyn J. (Don) Rice, Warsaw; 18 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Doris F. Dungan; a brother: Carl Dungan; and two sons: Robert E. and James L. Dungan.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Services will follow at 4 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Star of Hope Cemetery, Warren, Ind., at a later date.
