UPDATE: Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash
A motorcycle crash north of Warsaw Monday night claimed the life of a Warsaw man.
Robert C. Moore, 32, died at the scene of the crash that happened at 8:27 p.m. on CR 350 North, just east of CR 100 East.
Initially, the 911 call indicated a car and a motorcycle collided, but upon arrival emergency personnel found that the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved. First arriving officers located Moore lying in a ditch area on the north side of the roadway. Kosciusko County Coroner Michael Wilson pronounced Moore deceased at the scene due to blunt force trauma.
Kosciusko County F.A.C.T./crash investigators said Moore had been westbound on CR 350 North on his 2006 Honda motorcycle when, for an unknown reason, he left the south side of the roadway, striking a tree. A witness told StaceyPageOnline.com that Moore had been traveling at a high rate of speed just prior to the crash.
Moore was thrown across the roadway after impact and located by a passing motorist. The Kosciusko County F.A.C.T. team said it was currently unknown why Moore traveled across the center line of the roadway and that the crash was still under investigation. Moore was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The Kosciusko County F.A.C.T. team and Coroner’s Office were assisted at the scene by the Leesburg and Winona Lake fire departments, Multi-Township EMS, Warsaw Police Department, Indiana State Police and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
