Patrick Gerard Brost
Patrick Gerard Brost, 56, Syracuse, Ind., passed away at 4:07 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, in Syracuse.
He was born April 6, 1957, in Lafayette, Ind., to Ray and Margaret (McAuley) Brost.
Patrick was a 1975 graduate of Benton Central High School and a 1979 graduate of Indiana University with an accounting degree. He worked in the telecommunications industry with Verizon. He loved to feed the birds and loved decorating for the holidays.
He is survived by his life partner of 14 years: Greg Hooley, Syracuse; sister: Brenda (Steve) Walker, Indianapolis, Ind.; brother: John Brost, Milwaukee, Wis.; nieces and nephews: Jack, Sara and Victoria Walker; Stephen, Kevin and Michael Brost; Greg’s three children: Ben Hooley, Lyndsay Hooley and Whitney Miller, who he considered his own; and eight grandchildren who he loved and they adored him.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Hahn Groeber Funeral Home, 102 W. Luin St., Oxford, Ind. A funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Wed. Oct. 2, at St. Patrick Parish, Oxford, with Father Bob Klemme officiating. Burial will follow at Oxford Catholic Cemetery.
