Clyde Bell was left homeless today after fire swept through his mobile home near Palestine Lake.
Burket and Mentone Fire departments battled the blaze that started just before 6:30 p.m. According to the Bell, who just recently retired, he had been burning trash in an outside barrel, which spread to the trailer. “I was inside watching TV and the dog started barking,” he told StaceyPageOnline.com.
Both Bell and his dog escaped the trailer unharmed, but lost all of the home’s contents.
The Kosciusko County American Red Cross chapter was called in to assist Bell.
