Michelle Lee Blankenship
Michelle Lee Blankenship, 43, of South Bend, passed away at 7:16 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, in her residence.
On March 29, 1971, Michelle was born in LaPorte, to James E. and Mary L. (Lashure) White. Living most of her life in Westville, Michelle moved to Warsaw in 2000.
She worked for various restaurants as a manager, most recently King Gyro’s Restaurant in South Bend. She was a happy, loving person, who never met a stranger.
Michelle is survived by two sons: Michael Anthony Lewis, Silver Lake; and Travis James (Brittany) Lewis, Mentone; her parents; four sisters: Phyllis (Lawrence) Metcalf, LaPorte; Teresa Lambert, Silver Lake; Jessica (Danny) Thompson, Mentone; and Barbara Miller, Tennessee; one brother: Wayne ‘Marty’ (Julie) White, Mentone; three grandchildren, Connor Lewis: Nyla Lewis and Jackson Lewis; and her nephew: Ty Wayne Brown, Silver Lake; and several extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Arthur and Edna White; and her maternal grandparents: Wayne and Audrey Lashure.
Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at the funeral chapel, with Pastor Joe Lambert officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.
