‘The Bachelor’ Approved For Warsaw Filming
WARSAW — The city of Warsaw is preparing to welcome TV crews for the filming of a popular reality show this month. After the recent submission for filming scenes for “The Bachelor” in downtown Warsaw, the Warsaw Board of Works council has approved the proposal.
Ben Higgins, formerly of Warsaw, and recent contestant on “The Bachelorette,” will be bringing his search for love back home to Warsaw. On Sept. 24, a filming notification was submitted by NZK Productions, Inc., announcing the production company’s plans to film scenes for the reality show at the Kosciusko County Courthouse on Sunday, Oct. 25 and Monday, Oct. 26.
Several streets will be closed for a period of time to allow for filming to occur. Though streets will be closed, for the majority of the time sidewalks will be open. In addition, NZK will be employing security and placing barricades around the perimeter.
Closings include: North Buffalo Street, between West Center and West Main streets, from 12-4 p.m. Oct. 24; West Center Street, between North Buffalo and North Lake streets from 1 p.m. Oct. 24, to 6 a.m. on Oct. 27; the North Buffalo Street and West Center Street intersection from 1 p.m. on Oct. 24, to 6 a.m. Oct. 27; and the North Buffalo Street and West Main Street intersection, from 12 p.m. Oct. 24, to 6 a.m. Oct. 26, and from 6 p.m. Oct 26, to 6 a.m. Oct. 27.
“We will be setting up a public event on North Buffalo Street and West Center Street on Oct. 24 and 25, and filming a scene at the public event on the evening of Oct. 25,” notes NZK. “We will also be setting up a scene to be filmed at the courthouse on the night of Oct. 26.”
Higgins may not have been a love match for Kaitlyn Bristowe on the latest season of “The Bachelorette,” however, he may have a second chance at finding love. Higgins, who was the second runner-up in Bristowe’s season, will now be the 20th leading man of “The Bachelor.”
Higgins, who graduated from Warsaw Community High School, had a strong community presence in Warsaw. He reportedly served as a ministerial intern at Warsaw Community Church and was the marketing and fundraising coordinator at Baker Youth Club from April 2011 to July 2013.
Though he currently resides in Colorado, his family reportedly still resides in the area. The 26-year-old software salesman with a heart of gold was a fan favorite. Whether you are a reality fan or just want to cheer on a local, tune in to the upcoming season of “The Bachelor“ to see Higgins, hopefully, find love.
