Gladys Marie Holloway
Gladys Marie Holloway passed away at 9:27 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, in Warsaw Meadows Care Center, Warsaw. She was 91.
The daughter of William and Una (Denny) Bell, Gladys was born Dec. 14, 1923, in Monticello, Ky. She was a 1941 graduate of North Webster (Indiana) High School.
Gladys and Nelson Holloway were joined in marriage in Warsaw on Feb. 23, 1946. She lived most of her life in Burket. Gladys was an inspector for Playtime and F.I. Seaman Co. for a total of 16 years and retired in 1969.
She enjoyed playing Dominos and loved being outside gardening and taking walks. Most of all, though, she loved being with and took great care of her family. She was a great example of sacrificial love.
Gladys is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Nancy (Steve) Mikel, Farmington Hills, Mich.; and Beulah (Paul) Onstott, Burket; one son and daughter-in-law: Barry (Karen) Holloway, Olathe, Ks.; seven grandchildren and their spouses: Troy (Suzanne) Brindle, Havertown, Penn.; Rev. Scott (Kelly) Mikel, Livonia, Mich.; Chad Mikel, Kokomo; Tammy Mikel, Farmington Hills; Daniel (Chelsea) Mikel, Manchester, Mich.; Amber Holloway, Overland Park; and Marisa Holloway, Lenexa, Ks.; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother: Wm. “Whitey” (Nancy) Bell, Hicktory, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Nelson Holloway, on Feb. 29, 2012; three sisters: Effie Vanderkolk; Evalee DeVreese; and Beulah Bell; and brother: Guy Bell.
Family and friends will gather for a time of sharing memories from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, in Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw.. There will be a service to celebrate Gladys’ life at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw.
The family has asked that gifts in Gladys’ memory be directed to K-21 Health Foundation – Cancer Care Fund, Warsaw. The staff of Titus Funeral Home considers it a privilege and an honor to care for the family and friends of Gladys Josephine Maria Holloway.
