Arrested After Police Chase In Excess Of 100 MPH
A police chase in excess of 100 miles per hour on US 30 eastbound from US 31, landed a Fort Wayne man in the Marshall County Jail.
Naing Naing, 44, Fort Wayne, has been booked into the Marshall County Jail for resisting law enforcement with a vehicle and reckless driving.
At approximately 3:38 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, the Marshall County 911 Center received a report of a reckless driver on US 30 near Queen Road. An officer with the Plymouth Police Department located the vehicle, driven by Naing, on US 30, near Michigan Road speeding. Naing increased the vehicle speed when the officer attempted to catch up with it.
Officers with the Marshall County Police Department clocked the vehicle in excess of 100 miles per hour eastbound on US 30 from US 31. Naing then attempted to flee officers on US 30, failing to yield to their emergency lights and sirens. A short pursuit ensued in excess of 120 mph.
Due to good radio communications and dispatching, an officer with the Bourbon Police Department was able to use stop sticks successfully on the vehicle. The front tires of the vehicle were disabled and the vehicle stopped on US 30, near Cedar Road.
