Dorothy E. Moore, 88, Rochester, passed away at 8:20 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at Life Care Center of Rochester.

She was born on Aug. 19, 1927, in Mishawaka, the daughter of William E. and Nellie J. (Warren) Swathwood. On April 15, 1946, in South Bend, she married Frank E. Moore. He preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 1997.

Mrs. Moore had been a homemaker and a member of the Eagle’s Lodge. She enjoyed playing bingo, sewing, painting, reading and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her six daughters: Rebecca Foreman, South Bend; Juanita Welch, South Bend; Christine (Richard) Lawson, Osceola; Bonita (Phil) Riggle, Albany, Ky.; Diana (Jose) Perez, South Bend; Marcia (Ed) Wagner, Elkhart; four sons: Daniel Moore, Osceola; Wayne Moore, Elkhart; Steven (Katie) Moore, Granger; Kenneth (Janice) Moore, Princeton; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons; one great-grandson; and seven brothers.

Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Aaron McCombs officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, and one hour prior to service Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Fulton Cemetery, Fulton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eagle’s Lodge or to Shop with a Cop.
