Debra Ann Shaffer
Debra Ann Shaffer passed away peacefully at her home in Warsaw, May 24, 2016.
She was born Oct. 17, 1956 in Bremen, to Robert LaFollette and Jane Layne.
She graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 1975 and went on to earn a professional photography degree from the Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula, Mont. She founded Debra Shaffer Photography and fulfilled her passion working as a professional photographer. Her talent and creativity drove her successful business which was focused on newborn and family photography.
Debra loved spending time with her family and was a kind and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed travel, adventure, photography, gardening, and her grandchildren. She greatly enjoyed spending time at the family’s vacation home in Michigan. Despite her many and vast interests her family was always her unwavering priority.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 36 years: Stephen Shaffer; and three children: Racheal (Carson) Kintzel, Winona Lake; Carlie (Joshua) Smith, Fort Wayne, IN; and Trevor Shaffer (Rebecca Lecey), Chicago, Ill.; five grandchildren: Tanner, Avery, Claire, Liam and Margaret Quinn; four sisters; two brothers; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Aimee Renee Shaffer.
A private memorial service will be held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Ct. Warsaw, on Saturday, May 28. Pastor David Hummell will officiate the service.
