Syracuse Man Arrested for Violent Crime, Again
SYRACUSE — A Syracuse man was arrested after becoming physically violent with a female. This will be his third violent crime committed in 2016.
Todd Valentine, 40, 306 East Lynwood Drive, Syracuse, was arrested for strangulation, a level 6 felony and domestic battery with moderate bodily injury, also a level 6 felony.
On Nov. 11, an officer with the Syracuse Police Department responded to a domestic battery complaint. Upon arriving, the officer spoke with the victim, who stated that on Monday, Nov. 7 they had gotten into an argument.
According to the victim, Valentine shoved her off the toilet, causing her back to hit and break the wall. A nail in the wall caused a bleeding scratch in her black. Valentine then put both hands around her neck and squeezed to the point that she was unable to breathe and passed out.
The officer went into the bathroom and observed the damaged wall, blood on the carpet, blood on the shower curtain and a bloody towel which she had vomited on.
As the officer spoke with the victim, he observed and photographed bruises under her eyes and behind both ears. She also had broken blood vessels in each eye.
Valentine currently has pending charges in the Kosciusko County courts for battery against a public official, resisting law enforcement, intimidation and intimidation by means of a deadly weapon.
Valentine was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Nov. 29 with a $25,250 surety bond.
