John “JP” Hudkins II
Former Rochester resident, John “JP” Hudkins II, 25, Nappanee passed away at 9:22 p.m. Wednesday, July 26.
On February 24, 1992, John Phillip “JP” Hudkins II was born in Logansport. He was a treasured son of John and Shannon Smith Hudkins. Growing up as the oldest of three children, he shared his childhood with a sister Bailey and brother A.J. With great pride he graduated from Rochester High School in 2010. JP played centerfield for the Zebras men’s baseball team. He was talented with his abilities to cover the outfield width and depth complimented by a strong arm throwing with superb accuracy to the bases or home plate.
Continuing his passion for baseball, JP played in a men’s league in Goshen and played league softball in Nappanee. To relax he enjoyed hanging out with friends. JP’s favorite holiday was his birthday! He looked forward to celebrating this annual event with his family.
An avid Chicago Cub’s fan, JP thoroughly enjoyed the 2016 season with pennant drive and the crowning of the Cubs as World Champions. He enjoyed the adventure of travel. To no one’s amazement, his favorite destination was Wrigley Field. A young man with a heart of gold, JP fulfilled his desire to help many others through tissue donation.
Left to cherish JP’s memory are his parents John and Shannon Hudkins; sister, Bailey Hudkins; brother, A.J. Hudkins all of Rochester; fiancé Brandie Neilson and her daughter Brylee Ann White, Nappanee; maternal grandparents, Donna and Rick Watson of Logansport; paternal grandparents, John and Dottie Hudkins, Rochester; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding John in death is his paternal grandmother Phyllis Hudkins.
