Sara M. Peters, 81, Syracuse, passed away at 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, at her home. She was born on Sept. 18, 1938, in Goshen to Woodrow and Margaret (Lemley) Hagar.

She graduated in 1957 from Millersburg High School and was married on June 28, 1959, in Benton, to Clarence V. Peters who preceded her on March 10, 2014. She was a homemaker and former cook at Millersburg Elementary for 11 years. She lived her life in Millersburg, Goshen, and Chicago Heights, IL before moving to Syracuse.

She was a former member of the Peoples Bible Church in Benton.

She is survived by her two sons: Scott Peters, Clunette; Steven Peters, Las Vegas; two grandchildren: Robert Peters and Melinda Heneke; three step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Fred Joseph Hagar.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw. No public services will be held. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, is in charge of all arrangements.
