Valley protected its home turf against the Lancers in a 25-16, 25-16, 25-16 bingo Tuesday night.
Delaney Wagoner had a big night at the net, pounding home 15 kills to lead the Vikes (6-4) while Bree Sheetz also hit double digits with 10 kills. Brayden Baney had 18 digs and Hannah Engstrand sent up 31 assists.
In the JV contest Valley pulled away 25-14, 25-21. Emily McGriff had five digs and three kills and Brooke Kamp added five aces.
Goshen Blue Blazers 3, NorthWood 1
In maybe one of the bigger eyebrow raisers of the fall, the Blue Blazer squad pulled off a major upset of Class 3-A No. 7 NorthWood at The Pit.
The Blue Blazers, a Home School but already packing wins against teams like Bremen and Wawasee, won 25-22, 26-24, 20-25, 28-26.
For the Panthers (11-4), Annika Bennett had 12 assists, two aces and two blocks, Kennedy Hochstetler led the defense with 24 digs, Kendal Miller contributed 22 digs and 35 assists, Alea Minnich pounded 17 kills and Alana Lehman and Ali Knepp each had 10 kills.
Triton 3, Elkhart Christian Academy 1
Triton collected its 12th win of the season with a roadie at ECA 25-12, 22-25, 25-17, 25-20.
Lexia Hostrawser led Triton (12-4) with 10 kills and five blocks, Madeline Doll had four aces and four blocks, Abbey and Addyson Viers combined for 24 kills, Molly McFarland and Kinsey Atkins combined for 21 digs and Emma Hepler had 37 assists.
The Triton JV defeated ECA in a nailbiter 25-15, 12-25, 17-15.
