Kirby Wolfe
Kirby Wolfe, 47, Columbia City, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born March 14, 1973, in Columbia City, he was the son of Harold Wolfe and Paula Anders.
Growing up in Fort Wayne, Kirby enjoyed spending time listening to music, being with friends, playing baseball and being on the water. While attending Snider High School, Kirby joked that he was “Captain of the Varsity Smoking Team” and graduated with the Class of 1991. He would go on to earn his bachelors degree from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Kirby had a large personality and was funny and caring. He spent much of his work career in the car business and also investing in homes. It was not uncommon seeing him having fun with his friends, having a beer, going to concerts or speeding around in his Corvette listening to the Rolling Stones. Kirby enjoyed vacationing in Florida, was a fan of the Miami Dolphins (but not a fan of Tom Brady) and one day wanted to live in the paradise in Florida.
Kirby is survived by his son, Mason Waggoner; daughter, Morgan Wolfe; sister, Kelly Wolfe; and three nephews, Jacob Hosler, Zackary Hosler and Jackson Kline. He was preceded in death by both his parents in 2017.
Visitation will be 1 to 4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Face masks are required for attendance. Due to the current COVID Restrictions, there will be a private service for the immediate family but it may be watched live on Facebook through DeMoney Grimes Live at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday with Funeral Celebrant Sharon Brockhaus officiating.
Memorial donations may be given in Kirby’s memory to the Humane Society of Whitley County.
