Panthers Continue Wrestling Roll At Elkhart

ELKHART – NorthWood’s wrestling season will continue in earnest, sending 10 through to the next round after a stellar day at the Elkhart Wrestling Sectional.
The Panthers had four champions, two runner-ups and four others qualify for the Goshen Regional next weekend after finishing among the top four places to earn an advancement ticket.
Winning titles for the Panthers at Elkhart were Lynkyn Ratcliff at 113, Connor Ratcliff at 145, Kaden Lone at 160 and Isaac Benjamin at 220. The four recorded a combined five pins, two decisions and two injury defaults in their title works.
Blake Herr at 285 and Hunter Lechlitner at 152 were both runner-ups, Trey Tobias at 182 and Joas Miller at 195 were third, and Wes Yoder at 138 and Alex Walter at 170 were both fourth.
Northridge would repeat as team champion with 226.5 points, outpointing NorthWood’s 210 at the top of the table.
All of the advancing wrestlers will move to next Saturday’s Goshen Regional, which will be joined by the competitors from the Westview Sectional.
Regionals will take the top three placers in each weight class and advance to the Fort Wayne Semi-state at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on Feb. 13.
