Log Cabin Home Destroyed In Monday Morning Fire

PIERCETON — Sidney Fire Department was called to the scene of a structure fire at 1:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 22.
The fire occurred at 6333 E. CR 700S, Pierceton, at a log cabin. According to Sidney Fire Dept. Chief Kevin Wagoner, the cabin is owned by James and Katrina Ousley.
The occupants of the home woke up in the middle of the night and smelled smoke. Both were able to make it out of the home safely.
It took approximately four hours to get the fire under control. Estimated damage has not been calculated yet, Wagoner said but the home was a total loss.
Winona Lake, Pierceton, Silver Lake, Claypool, Larwill and South Whitley fire departments assisted Sidney FD at the scene.
