WARSAW — Fred Grote is hoping “to fill a gap” in the automotive business in Warsaw.
The Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce had a ribbon-cutting for Grote Automotive, 22 Capital Drive, Warsaw, on Thursday, April 15.
It opened in May 2020. Employing 15 people, the business offers a variety of used vehicles at a range of prices.
“We hope to fill that gap that we can take care of the people and give them the financing options … they need for the cars and give them a good selection of used cars,” said Grote.
He said the company works to help those who’ve “been through tough times.”
“If they have credit challenges, we can help with that,” he said. “We have over 22 banks that we deal with, so the financing part is where we really stick out from other dealers.”
Grote began working in the automotive industry at age 15. He worked in a variety of positions at other dealerships before opening what is now Grote Mitsubishi in Fort Wayne in January 2008.
He opened Grote Automotive in Rockford, Ill., in January 2021 and hopes to have four more dealerships in the next few years.
The Warsaw business is open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.
