Margaret E. Garman
Margaret E. Garman, 85, of Atwood, Ind., passed away at 4:33 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Ind.
She was born June 21, 1926, in Warsaw to Robert L. and Lillie (McSherry) Chinworth. She married Jack Garman on Jan. 3, 1946, in Wabash, Ind.
She worked for First National Bank, Warsaw and served in the Kosciusko County Auditor’s office from which she retired. She was a 1944 graduate of Warsaw Community High School; a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Atwood and was a part of its Missionary Society when younger. She was also a member of the Kosciusko County Historical Society, Red Hats and Warsaw Order of the Eastern Star. She loved her family dearly, loved to sew and quilt and made a quilt for each of her grandchildren when they were born and when they graduated from high school. She also made Easter and Christmas dresses for the granddaughters and Christmas sweatshirts for everyone; Barbie doll clothes for Barbara Jo and Elaine when they were little; enjoyed baking for all of the holidays; she loved the Lord, her church family and especially her pastor, Jerry Thomas and his wife, Joanne.
Mrs. Garman is survived by two daughters: Elaine (Jerry) Fike, Georgetown, Delaware; Barbara Jo (Michael) Eyster, Durham, N.C.; six grandchildren: Megan (Alan) Jordan, Georgetown, Delaware; Julie Eyster, San Antonio, Texas; Timothy (Nieca) Fike, Georgetown, Delaware; Emily Fike, Georgetown, Delaware; David Eyster, Durham, N.C.; Mark Eyster, Durham, N.C.; a great-grandson: Eli’jah; three sisters: Kathryn I. “Katy” Bouse and Dora Jane Engle, both of Warsaw; Elizabeth Ann Holt, Marion, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Jack Garman; three brothers: Robert Chinworth, Wallace Chinworth, John L. Chinworth; and a sister-in-law: Jane Chinworth.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, May 14, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 15, at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Thomas, Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
