Dorothy Marie Rose, 84, of Winona Lake, IN, and formerly of Columbus, IN., passed away at 4:25 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Grace Village Health Care; Winona Lake.

She was born May 17, 1927, in Fairchance, Pa., to George and Irene (Gewak) Bankovich. She married on March 17, 1956, in Detroit, Mich.

Mrs. Rose worked as an office worker for insurance companies. She enjoyed crewel and embroidery work; she earned her GED when she was 56 years old.

She is survived by her husband: Charles L. “Bud” Rose, Winona Lake; a daughter: Helen (Don) Fisher, Orlando, Fla.; two grandchildren: Christine (Ed) Shaheen, Winder, Ga.; and Richard (Charlene) Juliani, Carmichaels, Pa.; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers:  George Bankovich Jr. and John Bankovich; and a sister: Betty Campbell.

Visitation is planned for 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 17, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw.  The services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with pastor Joe Graham. Burial will follow at Etna Green Cemetery, Etna Green, Ind.

Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of choice or simple acts of kindness may be done for others.
