Relay For Life is Saturday
The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Kosciusko County is Saturday in Warsaw.
The event begins at 3 p.m. and events are scheduled to continue until 9 p.m. It is being held at the Kosciusko County Community Fairgrounds.
While every Relay For Life is different, there are certain traditions shared by all of the events. Those include the The Survivors Lap, which is an inspiration time for cancer survivors to circle the track together and allow everyone celebrate their victories.
There is also a Luminaria Ceremony where those who lost their battler with cancer are remembered. Candles are lit inside bags that are filled with sand, each one bearing the name of a person touched by cancer.
Relay For Life is a fund-raising event for the American Cancer Society. This year, Walgreen’s Relay For Life of Kosciusko County Team is selling sling bags with “K.O. Cancer” on them and a picture of boxing gloves. The bags are only $5 and may be purchased by contacting team captain Erin Nelson at [email protected].
