Three Named in April Robbery
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department detectives solved the robbery that occurred at a Silver Lake gas station, as well as an auto theft from North Manchester that occurred the same night.
Timothy Wayne Hackworth, 23, and Andrew Scott Asbury, 19, North Manchester, were arrested at the Kosciusko County Jail Thursday and preliminarily charged with felony strong armed robbery.
A third suspect, Harrison Henry Shepherd, 18, North Manchester is also being charged with the robbery but is currently in the Wabash County Jail on other unrelated criminal charges.According to detectives, Hackworth, Asbury, and Shepherd had stolen a Ford Mustang and a Chevy Camero from the Manchester Sales and Service car lot during the early hours of April 19. The men had driven both vehicles to the area near the Silver Lake McClure Oil gas station at 1:30 a.m. leaving one car and one suspect approximately a mile away.
Two of the suspects entered into the gas station with their faces covered and robbed the business of cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. The two left in the Ford Mustang returning to the “get away” vehicle location and then fled into Wabash County driving the Chevy Camero. That vehicle was located later in the day near the community of Laketon in Wabash County. The Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office had not yet set bond early this morning on the alleged suspects. The arrest of the three men was a concerted effort by the North Manchester Police Department, Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
