Donald C. Atchison, 85, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 10:03 a.m. Thursday May 24, 2012, at Casa De Laluz, Tucson, Ariz.

On Aug. 15, 1927, Donald was born to Floyd and Bertha (McGuire) Atchison in Warsaw, Ind.  He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County residing in Warsaw.  On March 23, 1946, he married Martha Hamman in Warsaw, who passed away Dec. 27, 1997.

Donald was employed by NIPSCO as a Customer Service Supervisor, for 35 years retiring Sept., 1983.  Donald served in the U.S. Army and the Merchant Marines.  Donald was also a member of the American Legion Post 49. Donald was very active in the men’s bowling league of Warsaw and coached little league for many years.   Donald moved to Tucson Arizona to be close to his family in 2005.

Donald  is survived by his daughter: Cheryl (Jim) Simonsen, Tucson; and son: Larry Hamman  (Kyong Hai), Montgomery Ala.; sisters: Janice Robison, Elkhart, Ind.; Elaine Nine, Warsaw; a brother: Floyd Atchison, Bedford, Ind.; three grandchildren: Donald, Tucson; Debra and Kimberly, Loganville Ga.

Donald was preceded in death by his mother and father; sisters: Ruby Golding, Mabel Armey, Marilyn Lilly; and brothers: Robert Atchison and Bill Atchison.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 1, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at the funeral home. Pastor Bob Jarboe will be officiating the service.  Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery.
