Kosciusko County Police Incidents
The following incidents were investigated by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
- Tuesday, May 29, officers responded to a welfare check request for Linda Herron of Pierceton. The door to her residence was found to be unlocked, and officers located her inside. She was deceased.
- Monday, May 28, at 11:23 p.m., Jennifer L. Miller of Cromwell reported several items, mostly jewelry, stolen from her home.
- Monday, May 28, at 6:08 p.m., James D. Stambaugh of Warsaw reported his life being threatened and named a suspect. The suspect has denied making the statement.
- Monday, May 28, at 5:50 p.m., Derek L. Mynhier of Ligonier reported his vehicle stolen.
- Monday, May 28, at 12:37 a.m., Robert W. Fuller of Milford reported a fight in progress at his home.
- Friday, May 25, at 12:20 a.m., Darin A. Miller of Warsaw was arrested for driving with a suspended license.
- Thursday, May 24, at 8:54 p.m., Laura L. Null of Etna Green reported her dog stolen from her yard.
- Thursday, May 24, at 8:30 p.m., Laura Atkins of Silver Lake reported that her house had been ransacked, but nothing was found missing.
- Thursday, May 24, Patricia Hernandez of Cromwell reported a fight involving a knife between three girls at Enchanted Hills, near the Bowen Center.
- Sunday, May 20, at 4:24 a.m., Shaun Michael Daffron of Syracuse was stopped on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. His breath alcohol content tested at 0.15. Prior offenses on Daffron’s record made this an enhanced felony. He was arrested.
- Sunday, May 20, at 2:35 a.m., Amanda Tinsley of Warsaw reported several underage subjects being loud and disorderly. During investigation, some were found to either have consumed alcohol or to be in possession of alcohol.
- Sunday, May 20, at 12:45 a.m., police stopped a vehicle driven by Mark A. Richards of Fort Wayne. Richards failed a preliminary breath test and was taken to KCH for a blood sample. The results of the blood sample were 0.12 BAC.
- Saturday, May 19, at 1:48 a.m., police responded to a report of an out of control male behaving strangely. During the investigation, suspect Charles Eugene Nyers of Syracuse admitted he had been drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana. He voluntarily surrendered to officers approximately one ounce of marijuana and some paraphernalia.
- Saturday, May 19, Chris M. Claybaugh of Pierceton reported that he had been battered by his former girlfriend.
- Friday, May 18, at 9:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Rainbow Lane and Morris Road intersection regarding an ATV accident with personal injury. Timothy W. Echols was located at his Cromwell residence. He denied being the driver of the ATV in his garage, but was transported to the hospital in Goshen.
- Wednesday, May 16, at 3:30 p.m., John Young of Etna Green reported finding the gas cap to his truck on his ground and his suspicion that someone siphoned gas from the vehicle.
- Tuesday, May 15, at 7:20 p.m., Zachery R. McKenzie of Claypool reported that he was battered by a female suspect after a verbal altercation escalated into physical violence.
