Irish, Purdue Reportedly In Mix For Moore
The three final schools vying for former Warsaw standout Nic Moore to join their programs are Notre Dame, Purdue and Illinois according to a report on ESPN.com.
Moore announced his decision to transfer from Illinois State in early May. Moore decided to leave the program after ISU coach Tim Jankovich left to take an assistant coach/coach-in-waiting position under Larry Brown at SMU.
Moore, a 5-9 guard, had a strong freshman campaign this past season at ISU. He averaged 10 points and a team-high 3.8 assists per game to earn All-MVC Freshman honors.
Moore led Warsaw to a Class 4-A state runner-up finish in 2010. He was an Indiana All-Star in 2011 and was runner-up for Mr. Basketball honors. He ranks second in WCHS history in career scoring behind Kevin Ault.
Moore will have to sit out the 2012-13 season under NCAA transfer rules.
