William E. ‘Bill’ Patterson
William E. “Bill” Patterson, 89, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 2:30 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, at Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake, Ind.
He was born Jan. 15, 1923, in Warsaw, to Roy E. and Lydia A. (Pittenger) Patterson. He married Neva David on Oct. 17, 1953, in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County and a farmer. He was a member of Dutchtown Brethren Church, Warsaw; was a good dad and lived on the family farm for 50 years. Mr. Patterson cared for his wife, Neva, at home for as long as he was able. Together, Neva and Bill enjoyed their travels to Alaska and Canada, both coasts of the U.S. (by train), took each of their children (and their children) to Disney World.
Mr. Patterson is survived by his wife: Neva Patterson, Warsaw; two sons: Kenneth (Cynthia) Patterson, Syracuse, Ind.; David Patterson, Warsaw; a daughter: Karen (Joe) Patrick, Leesville, La.; eight grandchildren: Derek (Ellen) Patterson, Tera (Cory) Hill, Christopher Patterson, Zachery McKenzie, Zekiel McKenzie, Shannon (Matt) Wagoner, Jessie (Lloyd) Kauffman, Julie (Jamie) Thorn; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Dale R. Patterson; a sister: Emmajeane Lightfoot; a son: Michael Patterson; and a grandson: Johnathon Patterson.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. ad 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 7, at Titus Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Worth, Dutchtown Brethren Church, Warsaw. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice or simple acts of kindness may be done for others in Bill’s memory.
