Ostrom, Hollar Earn Academic Honors
Warsaw golfers Tyler Ostrom and Bennett Hollar took care of business all season long on the course.
The pair of standout seniors also took care of things off the course too.
Ostrom and Hollar earned Academic All-State honors for the 2012 season. The duo are among 15 seniors statewide honored.
Ostrom and Hollar helped lead coach Ben Barkey’s team to a tie for sixth place at the State Finals held Tuesday and Wednesday at The Legends Golf Club in Franklin. The duo also helped the Tigers win conference, sectional and regional championships this spring. WCHS also won a program best six straight invitational championships during the season.
Ostrom, who will continue his career at Ball State University, also earned All-State honors after finishing in 14th place individually at State. Ostrom won the individual state championship in 2011.
Hollar, the No. 4 man in the Tigers’ deep and talented lineup, shot rounds of 80 and 84 at State. He will play collegiately at Wheaton College.
Ostrom and Hollar each played in the State Finals all four years of their prep careers at WCHS. The Tigers placed seventh at State in 2011.
