UPDATE: NIPSCO Outage Information
As of 7 p.m. Saturday, NIPSCO reported they hope to have all power in Kosciusko County restored by Sunday afternoon.
Approximately 1,500 customers in Warsaw are still without power. There are still about 902 customers in North Webster, 112 in Winona Lake, 56 in Syracuse and 36 in Pierceton affected.
At 4:30 a.m. Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer toured Warsaw and reported multiple large trees and downed lines. “I checked with the Warsaw Police Department and they said a transformer blew at midnight,” said. “They also said they have observed NIPSCO crews working overnight.”
From his office early this morning, Thallemer also saw six subcontracted emergency trucks with hoists head north on SR 15 (Detroit Street).
NIPSCO is reporting 85 workers have been dispatched in Kosciusko County. They say they have realized more damage than anticipated and it will likely by at least Sunday afternoon before all electric is restored.
For your safety, NIPSCO is still urging people to stay away from any downed power lines and crews working in your area. You can continue to receive power restoration updates by visiting nipsco.com or calling 1-800-4-NIPSCO (1-800-464-7726) 24-hours a day.
