Frontier Airlines Adds Western Connection
DENVER — Frontier Airlines today announced plans to start a non-stop service between South Bend Regional Airport and Denver this year.
Airport officials say the carrier, which is owned by Indianapolis-based Republic Airways Holdings Inc., will provide a “vital western connection” to help attract new business and tourists.
“Community demand for the addition of our service to South Bend has been strong,” said Daniel Shurz, Frontier’s senior vice president, commercial. “South Bend-area travelers will enjoy our low fares to Denver and other destinations in the West aboard our comfortable A319 aircraft.”
“Frontier Airlines is an ideal match for our airport and we are delighted that they have chosen to begin nonstop service to Denver from SBN,” said Mike Daigle, executive director of the St. Joseph County Airport Authority. “The new service is a vital western connection that will help the region to attract new business and tourists, while creating a more affordable and more comfortable option for travelers going west from SBN.”
