Just before 2 a.m., Warsaw Police confirmed that the vehicle they were chasing, driven by Brandon Adkins, 27, of Warsaw, had been involved in a drug transaction and they continue to seek both the vehicle and Adkins.The ejected passenger was semi-conscious at the scene and transported to Parkview Hospital by Samaritan Helicopter in serious condition. A statement at the scene from the passenger indicated a drug transaction did occur when the driver, identified as Adkins, fled upon seeing police and then threatened to kill the victim with a handgun he displayed.

Warsaw Police this morning are still looking for the black Lexus passenger car with possible passenger side rear quarter panel or bumper damage and a temporary Indiana license plate of C999867.

Police believe the driver of the Lexus to be Adkins, 27 years of age, possibly of Warsaw. They have not identified a female passenger who was also present in the car and the identity of the passenger will not be released due to the threats and confidential nature of this incident.

As last night’s event unfolded, Stacey Page received an anonymous phone call providing the name of the driver and the reason why he fled. The caller said a drug deal had gone bad and also identified the location where the transaction transpired. That information was immediately passed on to police, who continue to investigate.
