Driver in Police Pursuit Still Sought
One person was seriously hurt after being ejected from the vehicle during the pursuit, which began in Warsaw.
According to officers on scene, Warsaw City Police Officers Al Danko, Clay Layne and Ronald Nethaway attempted to stop a black Lexus at 9:18 p.m. when the vehicle sped away, heading north on SR 15. During the pursuit, the occupants of the car were throwing out miscellaneous items as the pursuit topped out at speeds of 140 mph.
As the vehicle turned west from SR 15 onto CR 1000 North just south of Milford, a passenger was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle continued west and then south on Pinkerton Road when police lost sight of the Lexus and terminated the pursuit.
Warsaw Police this morning are still looking for the black Lexus passenger car with possible passenger side rear quarter panel or bumper damage and a temporary Indiana license plate of C999867.
Police believe the driver of the Lexus to be Adkins, 27 years of age, possibly of Warsaw. They have not identified a female passenger who was also present in the car and the identity of the passenger will not be released due to the threats and confidential nature of this incident.
As last night’s event unfolded, Stacey Page received an anonymous phone call providing the name of the driver and the reason why he fled. The caller said a drug deal had gone bad and also identified the location where the transaction transpired. That information was immediately passed on to police, who continue to investigate.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Warsaw Police Investigation Division at 574-372-9540.
