Manwaring Leads WCHS Golfers
Alexis Manwaring led the Warsaw girls golf team to a fifth-place finish Saturday in a strong, 12-team field at the East Noble Invitational.
Sophomore Manwaring shot an 86 on the layout at Noble Hawk as the No. 12 Tigers finished with a team score of 349.
Juniors Nikki LaLonde and Elizabeth Meadows each carded an 87, senior Ashley Murrell an 89 and senior Morgan Sands a 92 for coach Chris LaLonde’s squad.
Kari Bellville of No. 1 ranked Penn earned medalist honors with a one-over 71 in the tourney.
No. 4 Noblesville won the team title with a 308. Top-ranked Penn was second at 313, followed by No. 3 Carmel (315), Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger (337), Warsaw (349), No. 20 East Noble (Blue) 356, DeKalb 357, Elkhart Central 381, Concord (429), Huntington North (430), East Noble (Gold) (430) and Goshen (431).
Warsaw is scheduled to host Columbia City Monday at 11:30 a.m. and West Noble Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Stonehenge Golf Club.
