Charles L. ‘Bud’ Rose
Charles L. “Bud” Rose, 85, of Winona Lake, Ind., and formerly of Columbus, Ind., passed away at 8:10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, at Grace Village Assisted Living, Winona Lake.
He was born Dec. 23, 1926, in Nappanee, Ind., to Charles V. and Hazel (James) Rose.
He was inducted into the U.S. Army Sept. 18, 1950, in Fort Knox, Ky., and served during the Korean War with the 7th Cavalry. Cpl. Charles L. Rose was honorably discharged on July 21, 1952, from Camp Carson, Colo.
He married Dorothy Bankovich on March 17, 1956, in Detroit, Mich. He was employed by Mobile Communication in Detroit for 45 years retiring in 1990.
Mr. Rose is survived by a stepdaughter: Helen Fisher, Orlando, Fla.; two step grandchildren: Christine (Ed) Shaheen, Winder, Ga.; and Richard (Charlene) Juliani, Charmichaels, Pa.; and six step great-grandchildren; three sisters: Donna Rose, Etna Green, Ind.; Norma Irwin, Warsaw, Ind.; and Alice Bennett, Warsaw.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Dorothy Rose, who died on May 15, 2012.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. at Etna Green Cemetery, Etna Green, with Pastor Joe Graham.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
