Alpaca Program At WCPL
Alpacas produce a fine luxury fiber that was once reserved only for Incan royalty. Today anyone can enjoy this soft, strong, warm, hypoallergenic fiber. But to obtain luxurious products requires work and many steps of labor intensive skills.
This presentation will overview the steps and processes to go from alpaca to product. Teresa Reed’s “Second Chance Farm” is home to both suri and huacaya alpacas. Her family cares for the animals and creates fine handmade fiber products in equipment similar to the processes used for several hundred years.
Find out about this process and watch Teresa spin some of this beautiful yarn at Warsaw Community Public Library at 6 p.m. Sept. 18. Register by calling 574-267-6011.
