Man With Crossbow Returns To Milford
Casey J. Louden, 25, Lynn Drive, Elkhart, was arrested by the same police officer on Monday that he had fled from 13 days earlier.
Louden was arrested for resisting law enforcement and held on $750 bond.
A warrant for Louden was issued after he failed to heed Milford Town Marshal Rich Miotto’s order to stop and fled the scene of an investigation with a crossbow. That incident occurred Aug. 21, at Dollar General, Milford. (See related article)
On Monday, Miotto reported he was entering the Stop-N-Go convenience store at 9 a.m. as Louden was exiting the business after making a purchase.
Miotto went to arrest Louden, who again fled. This time, however, he was apprehended after a short pursuit in the parking lot.
Louden was questioned by police on Aug. 21, when he and a female were
stopped inside the Dollar General store and confronted about shoplifting items. Louden was not found to have any stolen items in his possession and was allowed to leave.
Miotto said he observed Louden getting into the van the couple had driven to the store and removed an item. When confronted by Miotto as to what he had removed, Louden fled, but not before Miotto saw he had a crossbow in his possession.
An hour long manhunt in Milford took place, however, Louden was not located at that time.
