Fight Over Drugs Leads To Stabbing
A stabbing in Warsaw early this morning has resulted in aggravated battery charges against a local woman.
Crystal M. Bennett, 33, of 1613 E. Clark St., Warsaw, was arrested at her residence when police responded to a 911 hang up from that address. According to Warsaw Police, a domestic argument occurred between Bennett and Michael A. Mott, 41, of the same address. Someone at the residence called 911, but the call was disconnected. When dispatch called back, they were told a fight was in progress and a female had a knife.
Police arrived at 6:24 a.m. to find Mott suffering from three minor stab wounds to his right chest area. Emergency medical personnel attended to the victim, but he refused to be transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment.
A steak knife allegedly used in the stabbing was recovered and police have determined the argument stemmed over drug use.
The investigation showed that Bennett and Mott fought between themselves resulting in minor injuries to each of them. Both parties were intoxicated.
Bennett was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Her bond was set at $2,000.
