Judge Hears Oakwood Proposal
Ian Rolland made a progress report to Kosciusko County Superior Court I Judge Duane Huffer on Friday regarding Oakwood Park. Rolland explained he offered two proposals: the global proposal and the Rolland agreement. He also explained the differences between the two.
Huffer ruled Oakwood Park Property Owners have 30 days to vote on which proposal they want. Rolland’s attorney, Tom Yoder, explained 75 percent of the property owners do not vote for the global agreement, Rolland has some other options.
Huffer instructed the parties he wants this matter settled quickly. A follow up hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. Oct. 15, although as a fail safe, Huffer is keeping time available Sept. 28 in case parties need to call an emergency hearing.
Rolland spoke to Dr. Rex Parent on Monday, Sept. 10, regarding the global agreement. This was the first time Parent heard about the global agreement since he was out of the country on a mission trip.
Rolland said his meeting with Parent was productive and he shared Parent’s comments with the property owners. Rolland said he felt Parent is essentially in favor of the global proposal and he continues to be optimistic the sale will go through.
He noted some issues need to be dealt with, but they are not insurmountable. His focus now is on 75 percent of the Oakwood Property Owners voting for the proposal. “I’m pleased with what I see,” Rolland said.
