Theodore Skeans
Theodore Skeans, 84, of Warsaw, Ind., went home to be with his Lord and Savior away at 4:40 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
On Jan. 19, 1928, he was born in Martin, Ky., to Taylor and Callie (Derossett) Skeans. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Rebecca Nadine Johnson. They were married on Dec. 31, 1947, in Prestonsburg, Ky.
He moved to Leesburg in 1959 and then moved to Warsaw in 1987. He was retired from Farmers State Bank and was a member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church, Warsaw and Mentone Masonic Lodge #576 F & AM..
He is also survived by six sons: James (Susan) Skeans, Clarksburg, NJ; Jerry (Janice) Skeans, Nappanee, Ind.; Jack (Lorie) Skeans, Coloma, Mich.; Terry Skeans, Washington, N.J.; Ted (Opal) Skeans Jr., Warsaw, Ind.; Joseph (Lauri) Skeans, Warsaw; four daughters, Barbara Skeans, Houston, Texas; Linda (Mike) Miner, Warsaw; Mary Alice Park, Milford, Ind.; Janice Miller, Milford, Ind; two brothers, Bill Skeans, Wabash, Ind.; Floyd Skeans, Prestonsburg, Ky.; a sister, Beth Puffer, California; 28 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at the funeral home with Pastor David Cripe officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
