Warsaw Sports Wrap – Sept. 27
The Northridge girls soccer team claimed its fourth straight conference championship Thursday night with a 2-0 win over Warsaw.
The Class 2-A No. 17 Raiders got a first-half goal by Brianne O’Dell and a second-half score from Sidney Fuller to top the Tigers in the Northern Lakes Conference contest in Middlebury.
O’Dell scored in the 33rd minute of the opening half, assisted by Sarah Novak. Fuller tallied an unassisted goal in the 44th minute for the Raiders, who improve to 14-1-1 overall and finish at 6-0-1 in the NLC.
Northridge outshot the Tigers 13-2 and had a 5-3 edge in corner kicks. Warsaw keeper Abby Schue had 11 saves and Julina Skow had two for the Raiders.
Warsaw concludes regular-season play at 9-4-2 overall and 3-3-1 in the NLC.
Northridge won the JV game 1-0 on a goal by Kylie Frauhiger. The JV Raiders improve to 8-1-3 overall and 4-0-2 in the NLC. Warsaw’s JV is 4-3-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the NLC.
Warsaw plays Culver Academy on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the opening game of the Class 2-A Warsaw Sectional. Northridge hosts Fort Wayne Carroll Saturday.
