Donald Ray Bartley, 80, of Fort Payne, Ala., and formerly of Claypool, Ind., passed away at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at his residence in Fort Payne, Ala..

He was born on March 5, 1932, in Jenkins, Ky., to Ervin C. Bartley and Bertha (Tyree) Carpenter. He was married on March 19, 1962, to Julie Ann Miller, who passed away on June 10, 2010.

Donald was a former resident of Claypool for many years, a Kosciusko County, Ind. resident for 51 years where he retired from Uniroyal in Warsaw, Ind.

He will be lovingly remembered by his three sons: Terry (Sue) Bartley; Larry (Shelli) Bartley; Jim (Joyce) Bartley, all of Claypool; and one daughter: Brenda (Rob) Edling, Claypool; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and his sister: Fannie B. Hale, Silver Lake, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one grandson, two sisters, and one brother.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. His funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. and will be officiated by Elder Harold Vance and Reverend Fannie B. Hale. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery of Claypool.
