Pauline I. Ruff
Pauline I. Ruff, 84, formerly of Akron, Ind., passed away at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Life Care Center of Rochester, Rochester, Ind.
She was born Sept. 8, 1928, in Akron to Russell and Carrie Churchill Swihart. Pauline was married to Alvin L. Ruff Nov. 19, 1948, in Akron.
She was a homemaker and had worked in housekeeping at Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester. She attended the Rochester Church of God and enjoyed doing needle work and gardening. Pauline loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her four daughters: Barbara (Tom) Ervin, Ligonier, Ind.; Mary Ann (Monte) Wilson, Akron; Wanda (Hugh) O’Donnell, Star City, Ind.; and Donna Voorhees, Rochester; two sisters: Norma (James) Lee, Fruitland, Fla.; and Judy Montague, Akron; one brother: Jack Swihart, Gilead, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Alvin; one great grandson; one son-in-law: Nelson Voorhees; and a brother: Leroy Swihart.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, Ind. Services for Pauline I. Ruff will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Pyeatt presiding. Burial will be at Nichols Cemetery, Akron.
