Absentee Voting Up ‘500 Percent’
Absentee voting is underway in Kosciusko County and it seems to be shaping up to be a banner year.
On Monday, the first day of absentee voting, 112 ballots were cast. By day’s end today, Kosciusko County Clerk Jason McSherry said there were an additional 168 votes.
“Absentee voting is up about 500 percent compared to the Primary,” says McSherry. “The process seems to run more smoothly since we moved the voting to the basement (of the Kosciusko County Justice Building). Being open through lunch is also an added convenience for the voters.”
Absentee voting is taking place through noon Monday, Nov. 5, in the clerk’s office, located on the main level in the Kosciusko County Justice Building. Voting hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Saturday voting will be held from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 27 and Nov. 3.
