County BZA OK’s Auto Sales, Salvage Business
Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals approved an exception to allow an auto sales and salvage yard business for Russell Egolf in Leesburg during its regular monthly meeting Tuesday in Warsaw.
Egolf petitioned for the business on property zoned Industrial II on the west side of SR 15, north of CR 600N. Dan Richard, area planning director, noted approval was granted with the condition all screening and buffering is in place before any cars are brought in. Also, Egolf must follow the detailed site plan he presented to the BZA.
Just a few hundred feet away to the north on the same side of SR 15, Gilsinger Rentals dropped its petition asking for an exception to expand existing agriculture equipment, sales and service by constructing an addition to an office building. Richard noted a variance will also be needed because the addition is too close to a property line, so both petitions will be considered at the Nov. 13 meeting.
In other business, Julie Badskey was granted a variance for construction of a residence addition on South Street in North Webster. The original petition asked for the addition to be on the east right of way, but approval was granted for 1.5 feet away from the right of way.
