Warsaw+Winona Master Plan Presented To Public
The city of Warsaw and the town of Winona Lake are working together to develop a strategy to increase awareness and safety of a new bicycle and pedestrian trail system.
From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, a second public meeting for the development of the Warsaw + Winona Lake Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan will be held at the Winona Lake Senior Center, 1590 Park Ave., Winona Lake. The meeting is to provide an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the preliminary recommendations of the trail system’s master plan.
The master plan being developed is to create a strategy to increase bicycle and pedestrian activity and safety, ultimately providing guidelines for the location and type of proposed pedestrian and bicycle facilities throughout Warsaw and Winona Lake. In order to validate goals and objectives of the plan, and identify potential routes, facility types and signage, all interested citizens are invited to attend this public meeting.
The public meeting will begin at 6 p.m. with an informal review of materials. A presentation outlining the planning process and proposed recommendations will commence at 6:15 p.m.
Following the presentation, a series of stations will be arranged to provide information and solicit community input and engagement. Results from the meeting will be used to help prioritize important routes and guide implementation of the final Warsaw + Winona Lake Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan.
