Steven Ray Salmons
Steven Ray Salmons, 46, of Warsaw, Ind., went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on March 29, 1966, in Warsaw to Raymond Salmons and Carol (Ousley) Salmons, who both survive. On Oct. 14, 1996, he was married to Deanna Carol Johnson, who survives.
He graduated in 1984 from Tippecanoe Valley High School, and that same year he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving as a Light Wheel Vehicle Mechanic until his Honorable Discharge in 1988.
Steven worked for Da-Lite Screen Company and Monaco Coach Corporation until starting with Superior Wood Products of Warsaw in 2005 working there until his passing as the Production Manager. He was a member of New Life Christian Church and World Outreach in Warsaw; and a member of the National Cur Breeders Association.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife: Deanna Carol (Johnson) Salmons, Warsaw; two sons: Cody (Rachel) Salmons, Norfolk, Va.; Hunter Salmons, Warsaw; one daughter: Hannah Salmons, Warsaw; and two grandchildren; his parents: Raymond and Carol Salmons, Claypool, Ind.; one brother: Anthony (Tami) Salmons, Fort Wayne, Ind.; and his sister: Eva Mudd-Shaun, Mentone, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his two infant sons: Lane Salmons in 1997, and Logan Salmons in 1998; and his brother Terry.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. His funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor John B. Lowe. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #49 and V.F.W. #1126 both of Warsaw, as well as active members of the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard.
Memorial donations may be directed to the K21 Health Foundation, P.O. Box 1810, Warsaw, IN 46581-1810 and to be designated to go toward the Kosciusko County Cancer Care Fund.
