Vikings Headline All-TRC Football Picks
The Tippecanoe Valley football team has been rewarded for its conference championship season this fall on the field.
Nine members of the Vikings, the most of any team, were tabbed as all-conference performers in the Three Rivers Conference for the 2012 campaign.
Chosen from coach Jeff Shriver’s squad as All-TRC selections were Brennan Adams (offensive tackle), Cameron Castle (offensive guard), Mason Teel (tight end), Tanner Andrews (wide receiver), Ben Shriver (quarterback), Nolan Sponseller (defensive back), Adam Furry (defensive line), Justin Gunter (linebacker) and Jacob Ritchey (punter).
The Vikings went 8-3 overall this fall and finished 6-1 in the TRC, tying Rochester for the league title for the second straight year. The back-to-back TRC championships for the Vikings were the first time that had been done since 1993-94.
Whitko placed a trio of players on the All-TRC team. Chosen from coach Wayne Swender’s squad were Jake Nissley (kicker), Alex Stoddard (defensive back) and Schyler Fugate (linebacker).
Whitko finished 4-7 overall and 3-4 in conference play this fall.
A pair of Valley players, Dayton Cohagen and Dan Miller, along with Connor Stouder of Whitko were named honorable mention All-TRC.
