Schram Signs With Cardinals
WARSAW – Warsaw Community High School senior golf standout Jon Schram has signed a letter of intent to attend Ball State in the fall of 2013 and play golf for coach Mike Fleck and the Cardinals.
Schram enters his senior year at WCHS as a three-year starter and has been instrumental in the Tigers’ success, helping pave the way to an appearance in the state finals for three consecutive years for coach Ben Barkey’s squad, including a sixth place team finish in 2012 and seventh in 2011.
The senior standout owns a 75.4 career average in high school including a 74.8 average as a junior, was selected as All-Northern Lakes Conference twice and last year was an All-State selection as he finished eighth overall at the state championships. Schram was also a Future Collegiate World Tour All-American and racked up some impressive American Junior Golf Association rankings, earning a state rank of No. 3 in the class of 2013 and 89th overall in the nation.
Schram also put in many outstanding rounds in the classroom as well, earning a cumulative GPA of 8.53 on a 12-point scale through the first six semesters at WCHS. He intends to major in Business at Ball State.
Schram marks the fourth Tiger golfer who will compete for Ball State, including Denny Hepler, Chris Hansen, and Tyler Ostrom.
