Ronald Devoe Schmucker
Ronald Devoe Schmucker, 59, of North Webster, Ind., passed away at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, while surrounded by his family in his home.
Ron was born to Chancy and Thelma (Ogle) Schmucker on Sept. 2, 1953, in Warsaw, Ind. On July 29, 1972, also in Warsaw, he and Diane Widman were joined in marriage. They shared 40 years together.
A hard worker, Ron owned and operated Schmucker Home Improvement for 38 years. He enjoyed fishing. He was a devoted husband to Diane. Ron was a wonderful dad and in keeping them busy, he found pleasure in teaching many things to his sons. He was a very loving grandpa and papaw.
Left with memories to treasure are his loving wife: Diane Schmucker, North Webster; two sons and daughters-in-law: Jodi and Cheryl Schmucker, Warsaw; Chancy and Jessica Schmucker, Warsaw; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Harold and Karen Schmucker, Etna Green, Ind.; Kenny and Inez Schmucker, New Paris, Ind.; and Richard and Kandy Schmucker, Warsaw; and five grandchildren: Davanna, Cody, Chance, Emilee and McKenna.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents: Chancy and Thelma Schmucker; a sister: Helen Elliott; and a daughter-in-law: Lisa Schmucker.
Family and friends will gather at Titus Funeral Home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, for a time of supporting each other through the sharing memories and conversation. A service celebrating the life of Ronald Devoe Schmucker will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, in the funeral home. Pastor Gale Janofski of Warsaw Wesleyan Church will officiate.
The family has asked that gifts in memory of Ron be given to K-21 Health Foundation-Cancer Care Fund, P.O. Box 1810, Warsaw, IN 46581-1810.
