Unbeaten Plymouth Tops Vikings
AKRON – The Tipppecanoe Valley girls basketball team lost to undefeated Plymouth Thursday night in a non-conference contest.
The visiting Pilgrims, ranked No. 11 in this week’s Class 3-A poll, topped the Vikings 63-44.
Plymouth led 27-18 at halftime and just 33-29 after the third quarter. The Pilgrims, who shot over 50 percent from the field, outscored Valley 30-15 in the final stanza.
Amber Redinger scored 18 points to lead a balanced offensive attack for Plymouth. Hunter Stevens had 15 points and nine rebounds, Haley Harrell 11 points and Lauren Tanner 10 for the winners.
Cara Hoffman netted a game-high 19 points for the Vikings. Caylie Teel added seven for Valley.
Coach Dave Duncan’s squad is now a perfect 6-0 on the season. Valley, which has lost its last two games, falls to 2-3.
Valley (2-3) hosts Wabash Saturday night in its Three Rivers Conference opener. Plymouth (6-0) entertains South Bend Washington Monday night.
