The Warsaw varsity wrestling squad posted a 2-3 mark Saturday while competing in the Valparaiso Invitational.

The Tigers defeated Michigan City 48-30 and Gary West Side 48-18 in the tournament. Warsaw lost to South Bend Adams 34-18, Valparaiso 70-3 and Noblesville 75-6.

Top wrestlers on the day for Warsaw were Ben Plummer, Miguel Delfin and Alex Fisher. Plummer posted a 3-2 record at heavyweight, while Delfin was 3-2 at 220 and Fisher 2-2 at 152.

The Warsaw varsity squad is now 4-6 on the season.

The Warsaw junior varsity team competed Saturday in the Concord Invitational. Trenton Sainer placed second at 132 to lead the Tiger JV squad. Notching third-place finishes were Hector Carbajal (195), Alec Haines (220) and Andrew Brock (heavyweight). Placing fourth were Rene Adams (126), Shane Brown (160) and David O’Neil (heavyweight).

Warsaw hosts conference opponent Plymouth Thursday.
